Naito releases retrospective chunks of information and we are left to slot them together while trying to guess what will happen next. To summarise the story is a little difficult since the construction of the narrative is just as the title suggests – a puzzle. Ironically this is revealed to be a central theme of the story but it may be too obscured by the bloodsoaked façade and remorseless shocking events which unravel on screen. Then again we are hardly any better for wanting to watch this… Indeed that particular film title rears its ugly head during the uncomfortable opening fifteen minutes which set up this perverse and discordant morality tale and even with this context in mind, it is still not that difficult to question the psychological stability of Yamada and Naito. Conversely, there are some which on paper sound like the onset of the apocalypse – case in point: Yusuke Yamada, the writer whose books inspired Sion Sono’s Tag and Eisuke Naito, director of the unpleasantly titled Let’s Make The Teacher Have A Miscarriage Club. TikTok can glean clues about your student finances from the College Board, where families often go for information about scholarships and financial aid. We didn’t see specific financial details being transmitted, but information about your economic situation could come from pixels on the financial advice company SmartAsset, as well as Happy Money, a company that works with lenders to provide personal loans, including debt-consolidation loans. Recovery Centers of America, which operates addiction treatment facilities, notifies TikTok when a visitor views its locations or reads about insurance coverage. The national Girl Scouts website has a TikTok pixel on every page, which will transmit details about children if they use the site. Google and Meta have similar policies barring websites from sending them sensitive information, but, as CR has reported, they frequently receive it anyway.Īnd we saw the same problem when we looked at TikTok trackers. “We continuously work with our partners to avoid inadvertent transmission of such data,” TikTok’s Bosselait says. But TikTok’s terms of service say its advertising customers aren’t allowed to send the company certain kinds of sensitive information, such as data about children, health conditions, or finances. There’s no independent way for consumers or privacy researchers to verify such statements. The data “is not used to group individuals into particular interest categories for other advertisers to target.” If TikTok receives data about someone who doesn’t have a TikTok account, the company only uses that data for aggregated reports that they send to advertisers about their websites, she says. “Like other platforms, the data we receive from advertisers is used to improve the effectiveness of our advertising services,” says Melanie Bosselait, a TikTok spokesperson. The number of TikTok trackers we saw was just a fraction of those we observed from Google and Meta. “I think people are conditioned to think, ‘Facebook is everywhere, and whatever, they’re going to get my data.’ I don’t think people connect that with TikTok yet.” “I was genuinely surprised that TikTok’s trackers are already this widespread,” says Patrick Jackson, the chief technology officer at Disconnect, who helped us conduct the research. (None of those groups responded to requests for comment.) Even Planned Parenthood uses the trackers, automatically notifying TikTok about every person who goes to its website, though it doesn’t share information from the pages where you can book an appointment. The Arizona Department of Economic Security tells TikTok when you view pages concerned with domestic violence or food assistance. Interested in joining Weight Watchers? TikTok finds that out, too. When an oracle speaks it is not for us to say thanks but to attend to the message. Sylvia Plath is one of those others, and to them our gratitude and our dismay are equally impertinent. And those men and women who take the matter into their own hands, and spend all at once with prodigal disdain, seem frighteningly different from you and me. We are all dying, of course, banker and bum alike, spending our limited allotment of days, hours and minutes at the same rate. There are no easy answers for such questions, maybe no answers at all. There’s no Bluetooth on-board, and only 10 sounds to get to grips with, but you do get all the other essentials - an elegant sliding wooden keyboard cover, folding music desk, two headphone jacks and three pedals - in a choice of White, Rosewood & Black cabinets. These were the two standout features in our tests. The main reasons for the Arius’ popularity is a stunning main piano sound derived from a real, top-of-the-line Yamaha CFX acoustic grand piano, mated to a brilliantly playable Graded Hammer Standard keyboard. The successor to Yamaha’s incredibly successful Arius YDP-144, the YDP-145 is the cheaper of the two full-sized models in the range. Yamaha’s Arius range of digital pianos sits below the Clavinova range in terms of features and affordability, and as such is the number one choice for piano teachers, students or anybody else who wants a great-sounding, compact digital piano that isn’t going to break the bank or overwhelm the space in the room. This entry-level digital piano punches well above its weight, and in our tests, we found that it offered outstanding sound quality for its wallet-friendly price. On the other end of the price spectrum, we would have to go for the Casio AP-270. We found that this digital piano feels and sounds exactly like the real thing, while also benefiting from Yamaha’s world-famous build quality - and not to mention it looks absolutely stunning. If we could only choose one digital piano from the Japanese instrument giant, then it would have to be the excellent Yamaha CLP-775.
